A few weeks ago, I traveled to a small town outside of Spokane, Washington. Being a first-time visitor it took me a while to gain a feel of how the city of Coure d' Alene was laid out, so that I could go from one place to another. After I finally figured out the 'system', it seemed very simple. But at first, I was very frustrated! Online learning communities like the NET Institute can often be very confusing when you first begin. Sometimes it just helps to have someone available that you can ask a few questions, and who can point you in the right direction. There are several people who are committed to your successful involvement in the NET Institute. Dr. Jean LaCour, the Institute's Director, is a remarkable woman with a passion for helping those who desire to help others. That is our focus here at the NET Institute ... to be a team that draws alongside you, to better enable you to draw alongside others who struggle with addiction (in all of it's forms). My role, as the online community manager, is to do all that I can to make your involvement progress as smoothly as possible. Think of me like the Concierge at the downtown hotel ... someone that knows the way around town and can handle questions and problems for you. The best way to contact me is by email (rick@netinstitute.org), and I should be able to respond within 24 hours (but in reality, it will often be MUCH sooner). Looking forward to serving those who are serving others! Rick Petty
